Sleepless in Sunnyvale, CA
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, and it’s because I’ve been sleep-deprived. My baby girl has no pattern whatsoever to her slumber, and the same method that puts her to sleep one night seems to have no effect the next night. I got all excited because two nights in a row, wrapping her up in my Moby carrier and playing her lullabies on the piano (basically, “Rockabye Baby,” “Mockingbird,” and “All the Pretty Little Horses,” repeated a bajillion times) had her snoring before long. Hail, Calendula Ointment!
Oh, how I love Calendula, let me count the ways. 1. I love the way I can use it to feel superior. Let me explain. Two weeks ago I noticed dried blood in the shell of my baby’s ear. After gently cleaning it up with a Q-tip, I could see that it was from a scratch she had probably given herself (I just can’t keep up with the growth of her nails!). Breastfeeding – Don’t Give Up (Part Deux)
The night Aria had her tongue-tie released, she cried like crazy and I spent the first 100% sleepless night of my life. Each time I thought I had rocked her to sleep, I would set her down only to have her wake up immediately and cry.
