Is Amy Chua vindicated? Her daughter just got into Harvard.
Does Amy Chua have the last laugh, now that her daughter was accepted to Harvard? My FIRST reaction is, “No, what’s the big deal about getting into Harvard?” But that’s just because I’m jealous: I tried and tried, but I didn’t get into Harvard. And then I cried and cried. So secretly, I do think it’s a big deal to get into Harvard. My second, and more analytical, reaction is, “Surely there are children of non-Tiger mothers (let’s just call them ‘Pussycat Moms’) who also got into Harvard?” Of course there are. Epiphany!
This is neither here nor there, but I figured out why “Antarctica” was the correct answer….because Latin America actually pertains to all of the countries south of North America that once spoke Spanish or Portuguese…so that would mean that South America is included in Latin America. Therefore, the only continent south of Latin America would be Antarctica. I get it now!! Just wanted to share…

Many people have asked me whether Amy Chua’s article and her child-raising tactics applied to my life. I tell them a resounding, “YES,” with one big difference: my Tiger mother made Amy Chua look like a cub. My mother was ferocious…Amy Chua is almost sweet in comparison.
