Natural Remedies for Coughs in Babies
If you’re the mother of a child less than a year old, and your child develops a cough, what are you to do? That is the question that I found myself asking just five months into my baby’s life, when my mother-in-law moved out and we put our baby into day care. The week after, the little Apple started coughing. The reason that this is a dilemma is that a) the FDA warns against the dangers of using OTC cough medications in children under four years old (not that I would use conventional medicines anyway, as a naturally minded mama); … Continue reading

Ask Dr. Corrine: What Are Some Good Natural Remedies for Helping My Child Conquer Colds and Flus?
Yup, it’s that time of year again. The school year and fall season are in high gear, and today I woke up with that yucky, slightly painful tickle at the back of my throat. So, I decided to ask Dr. Corrine Wang, a naturopathic physician focused on resolving childhood allergies, asthmas, and ADHD, to weigh in on what we can do as Moms during this time to help prevent our kids from getting sick. That is why we put it near the front door, so that it can knock out guests as they walk in, enabling us to ransack their pockets for extra cash. Just kidding. Not really. We use compostable diapers and have a compostable diaper service pick ours up every week, but just because we’re being environmentally friendly doesn’t mean that that pervasive stink doesn’t still waft itself into our … Continue reading

How to Make Cinnamon Lip Balm for Sexy Lips
As the harried Mom of an 11-month-old, I am definitely not feeling sexy these days. I look like a human kangaroo, what with my tummy still looking semi-pregnant and all, and my face evolving into a dermatological desert (which is what led me to write about how to make essential oil skin care blends in the first place). So I decided to dash off a quick post about what I do to feel sexy again. Very simply, I make some Cinnamon Lip Balm to give myself a pair of big, sultry, bee-stung lips. No collagen injections needed here! Remember when … Continue reading
