Onto the epidural part of the saga: the anesthesiologist gave me 8 cc’s, an amount considered normal (it’s usually 10 to 12 cc). For me, however, it was overwhelming. Somehow, I was numbed all the way up to my mouth, and lost my ability to swallow (or talk). My blood pressure dropped to 80/50, and I threw up repeatedly and uncontrollably.
